Blue & White Pottery

While living in Singapore, I attended a class at one of the quilts shops there.  We all made the same quilt using a block-of-the-month quilt pattern, The Blue Collection.  Most of us tweaked the design here & there to suit us.  I made my tree less elaborate & my borders less busy.  I machine pieced the background & machine-appliqued all of the pottery pieces & leaves.  It took me a long time to make this quilt; it now hangs in our home in a featured spot & is my husband's favorite quilt.  Others seem to like it too.  I made it in May 2003.  It's hand-quilted.

  3. Oh my gosh, it's beautiful. You know, I never completed mine (and I now never will). I have used some of the blocks to make other things (like a cover for my MIL's kitchen machine). But looking how beautiful yours turned out, I should have persevered ;(

  5. I'm so glad we reconnected too -- such great memories of our quilting days in Singapore. Never to be repeated I think. Nothing like it here, even in Pennsylvania where I know zero people who quilt.
