Crazy, Just Crazy

Here's my version of Kaffe Fasset's "Diagonal Madness."  Angela & I took a road trip to Tennessee (Oct. 2009) to listen to Kaffe speak one night, then attend a all-day class the following day.  We did no sewing during the class but rather simply cut lots of squares (two sizes) & placed them on a design wall that was provided for us by the quilt shop where the class was held.  Kaffe went around the room critiquing our layouts -- suggesting changes or not.  This is the result.  The class was fun -- the whole time in Tennessee was fun -- I met Angela's bro Jeff & his family & we talked & laughed & a good time was had by all.  A nice memory.  And a nice quilt to show for it.  I machine pieced & machine quilted this -- the machine quilting is in the ditch in a diagonal pattern -- hard to see with all the busy-ness going on but I love this quilt.  It's crazy, just crazy in a good way.  It's dated March 2010 -- that's when I had the quilt sandwich ready to be quilted but I just recently completed it.  It's ~60" square.

  1. Memories of a great weekend sewn into that and quilt, it's a beauty! Looks great on the wall. Can't wait to see it in person. Also can't wait for our next adventure---Lancaster, PA and Jeanne Robinson or is it Robertson, well you know who I mean.
