Morning Glories

The morning glories were started from seed -- when first planted outside on the deck, they were wee tiny -- & after 8 weeks of watering & waiting, they bloomed.  Beautiful dark purple flowers.  But I will say that I was disappointed.  I imagined a wall of color rather than here a flower, there a flower.  Maybe it had to do with the wicked hot, dry summer weather we're experiencing this summer of 2010.  So next year I'm thinking I'll try something else in the long, deck pot -- maybe sunflowers?  Stay tuned.

  1. Absolutely fantastic color, Sue, worth all the effort you've put into those tender little plants. Perhaps they'll bloom more once the weather cools?

  2. I don't imagine they will cuz the bottom bits are dying off. This weird, hot, dry summer didn't help I'm sure.
